The Impact of Covid-19

Transport, logistics and Covid-19

In April 2020 the AHPD Network published a blog describing the impact of the Covid19 pandemic on the transport and logistics sector: http://blog.policy.manchester.ac.uk/author/sheena-johnson/

The AHPD also published a paper with suggestions of action that could be taken by employers in relation to the health and wellbeing of drivers during the pandemic. Our comments are still relevant today. Read the full paper here: https://www.alliancembs.manchester.ac.uk/original-thinking-applied/original-thinkers/transport-logistics-and-covid-19/

In December 2020 Wheels Magazine (published by the United Road Transport Union) summarised the AHPD view on the impact of Covid-19 on the transport industry and drivers: https://urtuulr.com/wp-content/uploads/Wheels-November-2020.pdf

A summary of survey responses on the impact of Covid-19 on the haulage industry

The Road Haulage Association (https://www.rha.uk.net) published the results of a survey undertaken on behalf of the Department for Transport in May 2020. They describe how the Covid-19 crisis affected haulage operations in the UK and the support the industry needs to recover: https://www.rha.uk.net/Portals/0/News/Policy%20and%20Campaigning/Policy%20and%20Campaigning%20Documents/RHA%20Driver%20Shortage%20Actions%2004.06.21.pdf?ver=2021-06-04-172031-887
