First keynote speaker pair announcement!

Commodore Michael Clapp Royal Navy (Retired), Commander Amphibious Task Group 1982 & Major General Julian Thompson Royal Marines (Retired) Brigadier 3rd Commando Brigade 1982.

The Command Duo which made the Amphibious Operation happen will be giving a joint key note exploring the war from their perspective; the reception of information, the rapid evolution and deployment, the posturing at Ascension will be all be covered. As well as the transit down, the decision making process, the landing in San Carlos and the subsequent operations.

Since the war, both men have published accounts, both have taken an active role in educating generations of British & Allied officers from their experience. In addition Maj Gen Thompson has become a prolific author and guest lecture at King’s College London War Studies department, whilst Cmdre Clapp has in recent years thrown himself into the ongoing British defence debate.
