HCRI is holding one of the first screenings of the documentary ‘Operation Legacy’

26 March, 4.00 – 6.00pm, Ellen Wilkinson, Room C5.1

Free Admission

It’s an incredible film that will be of interest to anyone studying History, Humanitarianism, International Law, International Relations and Politics – particularly those interested in the contemporary repercussions of European colonialism.

The film follows the Kenyan legal case against the British government following the abuses they suffered during the Mau Mau counterinsurgency during the 1950s. It will be introduced by Dr Poppy Cullen (Uni of Exeter) who recently published her book ‘Kenya and Britain after Independence: Beyond Neo-Colonialism’ and followed by a discussion on the film.

It will end with an open wine reception so you can keep the conversation going!
