Tomorrow, Wednesday, at 5pm, Tammy A. Gales from Hofstra University will be giving a public lecture on ‘Netflix and Change?: Forensic Linguistics and False Confessions in the Age of True Crime’ (Samuel Alexander, SG.16). Her Key Ideas seminar, the following day, 2-4pm, will be on ‘Ideologies of Violence: Threatening Language Ideologies versus Threatening Language Realities’ in Ellen Wilkinson, B2.4.

Next week, we have an important additional event in the ‘Public Intellectuals’ series, when we will be delighted to welcome author and historian, Colin Grant. He will be in conversation with Ellah Wakatama Allfrey about his new book, Homecoming, featuring interviews with members of the Windrush Generation.

This takes place on Thursday November 14th, 6-8pm, at the Anthony Burgess Foundation. The event is free but please register your intention to attend on Eventbrite
