Survey: How computing supports your research

Calling all researchers and experimental officers!

Are you carrying out data-intensive research? Do you require local or non-standard IT infrastructure to collect, generate or process your data? Have you built your own IT solutions for your research?

The Research Lifecycle Programme (RLP) would like to hear from you to better understand and identify existing or potential technology barriers in your everyday research environment, and how the University can aim to better provide supported, compliant compute infrastructure (such as data servers) that would be deployed in labs or similar locations.

By taking part, you can be entered into a draw to win one of three £50 Amazon vouchers available. This survey will close on Monday, 3 February.

Invite: Digital Collections Launch

Join us at Whitworth Hall at 5pm, Tuesday 28 January 2020 for the official launch and celebration of the new University of Manchester Digital Collections Viewer.

Built in collaboration with experts from Cambridge University Library’s Digital Library team, the image viewer partnership has been led by Dr Guyda Armstrong, Faculty Lead for Digital Humanities. This was implemented in close collaboration with colleagues from the Research Lifecycle Programme, The University of Manchester Library, the John Rylands Research Institute, IT Services, Creative Manchester and academics from the School of Arts, Languages and Cultures.Canapes and drinks will be provided on arrival. There will be an opportunity to network, followed by short speeches and a chance to try out the digital platform and experience first-hand how the Digital Collections Viewer could transform your research.
