Locations Journal Virtual Symposium

please share this Call for Papers for the upcoming symposium, “Resilience & Disaster: The Global South during COVID-19,” hosted by Re:Locations – Journal of the Asia Pacific World. We have extended the deadline for submissions to October 9, 2020. We invite researchers, graduate students, and practitioners from all relevant disciplines to apply.

Re:Locations is a peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary journal housed at the University of Toronto’s Asian Institute. Our vision is to explore resilience in practice, specifically looking towards practices of states, communities, and individuals in the Global South and the diaspora. We aim to facilitate cross-disciplinary dialogue that challenges dominant narratives of racism, sensationalism, and rhetoric of blame and shame often associated with the Global South regarding the pandemic in the mainstream media.

The symposium will be held online between November 16 – 30, 2020. There is no fee for submission, registration, or publication. Selected presenters will have the opportunity to publish their research in the Journal (University of Toronto Press).

The Call for Papers, containing the link to the submission form, is attached. Please send any questions or comments to our email at relocationsjournal@gmail.com. We look forward to reading your submissions!
