CHOSEN stroke trial

A trial assessing whether delivering mouth care to patients after a stroke is achievable.

Information for stroke patients about our new research

Pneumonia and other lung infections are quite often diagnosed during stroke recovery.

We want to find out if good mouth care plays a part in minimising lung infections. We’d like you to help us.

It is often very difficult for stroke survivors to clean their own mouths thoroughly. During this research, you will try one of four ways of improving mouth care.

At first this will be done by one of the nursing staff looking after you.

You will be regularly assessed and your progress will be recorded.

Come join us!
