Although the project was based at The University of Manchester, we collaborated with groups and individuals in Latin America as part of our research processes and project outcomes.<\/p>\n

Entrevi\u00f1etas<\/a> is a platform based in Colombia for promoting creativity, well-being and skills through comics and drawing.<\/p>\n

\"\"The Centre for Documentation, Banco de la Rep\u00fablica<\/strong> Cali<\/strong> is a public space for specialised consulation and research, targeted at the recovery, conservation and promotation of documents that, in different ways, address diverse elements of the Valle del Cauca region and its area of influence along the Pacific coast of Colombia. Among the collection’s holdings there are regional newspapers dating from the nineteenth century to the present, magazines and bulletin edited and publishing across the region, photographic and family album archives, maps and plans, ephemera, fanzines and uncommon publications from Cali, among other materials. The Centre is also an access point for the wider library network of the Banco de la Rep\u00fablica.<\/p>\n

\"ICESCIOne of the key values of the Universidad Icesi is ‘recognising the dignity of every person’, which is why we were interested in hosting conversations like those proposed by the project Comic and Race in Latin America<\/em> Comic and Race<\/i> on our campus and with our university community. As part of the event, the Departament of Communication and Digital Content<\/b>, the Specialisation in Creative Writing<\/b> and the <\/b>Centre for Afrodiasporic Studies (CEAF)<\/b> took part in the work being undertaken by this research project, work of real importance to the city of Cali.<\/p>\n

Operating since 2012, Espacio Los \u00danicos<\/a> in Lima is a dedicated space for exhibitions, workshops and concerts that aims to foment diverse kinds of artistic exchanges, both within and beyond Peru.<\/p>\n

Sara La Torre was born in Lima and is a psychologist, researcher, printer and editor. Her work focuses on exploring the interactions between emotions and memory in our everyday objects, emphasizing the material culture of our printed archives. She\u2019s currently editor-in-chief at Soma Publicaciones, a publishing press that works with artists and editors to promote making zines and books. She\u2019s also co-founder of Zinebiosis, an itinerant archive of Latin American zines.<\/span><\/div>\n
