This\u00a0 paper by\u00a0PROTECT theme 3<\/a> <\/span>researchers and the Virus Watch<\/a> <\/span>community cohort study, investigates how occupational differences in SARS-CoV-2 infection risk has changed over time, and includes updated data from the Omicron wave in England and Wales.<\/p>\n

Most pronounced occupational differences in infection risk were apparent early in the pandemic, but elevated infection risk was apparently in teachers in all pandemic waves compared to office-based professional occupations. Education and healthcare workers had elevated infection risk during the Omicron wave.<\/p>\n
