RHS&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;3.17.6&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p>Research interests include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the comparative safety and effectiveness of pharmaceuticals and biotechnology products;<\/li>\n<li>drug policy and risk management programme evaluation;<\/li>\n<li>epidemiological methods using electronic healthcare databases.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our team has many years\u2019 experience of working with large healthcare databases in the UK, particularly the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cprd.com\/\">Clinical Practice Research Datalink<\/a>, to inform policy decisions on health interventions and the delivery and organisation of health care. RHS&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;3.17.6&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p>We have developed a large and growing research portfolio with particular strengths in our work on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>drug utilisation studies;<\/li>\n<li>evidence synthesis and health technology assessment;<\/li>\n<li>pharmacoepidemiology using large electronic health record datasets (including CPRD) and disease registers;<\/li>\n<li>identification and prevention of adverse drug events;<\/li>\n<li>improving the appropriateness of prescribing, administration and adherence to medication;<\/li>\n<li>adverse drug events and medication errors;<\/li>\n<li>cohort and case control observational studies;<\/li>\n<li>discrete choice experiments and best-worst scaling;<\/li>\n<li>randomised controlled trials and meta-analysis;<\/li>\n<li>safety culture and safety management systems;<\/li>\n<li>validation of studies from primary care databases.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our research funding comes from a range of sources including national\/government agencies, the National Institute for Health Research, research charities (Medical Research Council, Cancer Research UK and Diabetes UK), professional organisations (Royal Pharmaceutical Society and UK General Medical Council) and the pharmaceutical industry.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Text: Research tools&#8221;
