After a busy few months we are excited to announce the opening of our exhibition Beyond Faith: Muslim Women Artists Today. <\/strong>It will take place on 13 June 2019, 5pm – 7pm at The Whitworth.<\/p>\n

The exhibition brings together five contemporary Muslim women artists: Robina Akhter Ullah, Shabana Baig, Fatimah Fagihassan, Aida Foroutan and Usarae Gul.<\/strong> Over the last year, the artists have selected pieces from their individual portfolios and the Whitworth\u2019s collections. Speaking in their own voice, they address themes of identity, culture, otherness and belonging, creating a co-authored conversation beyond faith.<\/p>\n

The opening night includes a preview alongside the artists, followed by an open mic performance evening. Soft drinks and canap\u00e9s (halal and vegetarian) will be served.<\/p>\n
