Project lead Rachel Gibson\u2019s most recent book ‘When the Nerds Go Marching in: How Digital Technology Moved from the Margins to the Mainstream of Political Campaigns’<\/a>,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>is now available as hardback, paperback and Kindle eBook. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

T<\/span><\/span>his book is about the effects of technology on campaigning and electoral participation. It is\u00a0<\/span><\/span>part of the Oxford\u00a0<\/span>Studies in Digital Politics series, and<\/span>\u00a0it<\/span>\u00a0provides cross-national comparative research on citizen campaigning and technology in\u00a0<\/span>elections<\/span>. It offers an in-depth look into how citizen campaigning may revitalize public faith in democracy and the political process, but also how it may create a new political elite.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

All in all, this book\u00a0<\/span>provides\u00a0<\/span>grea<\/span>t background reading for those interested in these topics, and it is an example of the work that has inspired the DiCED project.<\/span><\/p>\n
