Coat of memories and ethical dilemmas

My mum’s mink coat is in the wardrobe in the front bedroom. It’s been there since she died in 2001 although I go and look at it and feel the soft fur and silk lining. I think it smells of her perfume-Chanel no 5. I think about her. I remember when she and Dad went out somewhere special she might wear it. Mum always knew what to do and how to behave. She wore it to Dad’s funeral. I’ll never wear it. I disapprove of killing animals for their fur, although this one-these minks are long dead but I will keep it. I miss her
