_builder_version=&#8221;3.0.47&#8243; parallax=&#8221;off&#8221; parallax_method=&#8221;on&#8221;][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;What we do intro right&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;3.17.6&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p>We believe that the voices of patients and the public should be valued in medical training, as it is the public who directly benefit from medical education when using health and care services.<\/p>\n<p>The Centre was established by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.doubledayfund.org.uk\/\">Edwin Doubleday Fund<\/a> in 2015 as the first centre of its kind in England. The Fund was set up by the parents of Edwin Doubleday, a former medical student at Manchester who passed away before he could take his final exams.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_accordion _builder_version=&#8221;3.17.6&#8243;][et_pb_accordion_item title=&#8221;Our core purpose&#8221;
