Her discussion emphasised the importance of listening to patients, building trust and creating systems that respond to real experiences &#8211; themes that resonated strongly across our community.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DXamE1wboN4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen title=\"Doubleday Conversational Series 2026 - Dr Henrietta Hughes\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2>Sir Robert Francis KC: Learning from the infected blood scandal<\/h2>\n<p class=\"paragraph ng-attr-widget\">In May, we were joined by Sir Robert Francis KC, who explored the lessons of the infected blood scandal. A longstanding friend of the Doubleday Centre since delivering the Doubleday Lecture in 2014, Sir Robert reflected on the human impact of institutional failures and the essential role of patient voices in shaping safer, more accountable services.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/szpUSHv4g1U?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen title=\"Doubleday Conversational Series 2026: Sir Robert Francis\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph ng-attr-widget\">Together, these sessions reinforced a shared message: healthcare improves when patients are partners.
