border_style=&#8221;solid&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h1>Exploring girlhood<\/h1>\n<p class=\"paragraph ng-attr-widget\"><span class=\"ng-directive ng-binding\">In this collaboration with <a href=\"https:\/\/jcashton.com\/digital-womens-archive-north-dwan\">Digital Women&#8217;s Archive North (DWAN)<\/a> we shared stories and themes arising from our interview data with a group of artists who then produced their own creative responses.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph ng-attr-widget\"><span class=\"ng-directive ng-binding\">Five women artists (born 1962-1988) were recruited, bringing\u00a0diverse experiences of girlhood outside the UK:\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Kani Kamil\u00a0(Kurdistan-Iraq),\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Mahboobeh Rajabi (Iran),\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Rand Aljundi (Syria),\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Gloria Saya (Congo) and\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Mei Yuk Wong\u00a0(Hong Kong).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph ng-attr-widget\"><span class=\"ng-directive ng-binding\">The workshops took place online due to Covid restrictions. The project facilitator, Jenna Ashton, shared data and themes in advance to allow for individual reflection and practice before the online group discussions.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li stories as well as with other women&#8217;s stories which mean a lot to me and already inspired me to be creative and reflect that in my work. &#8230;\u00a0I really want to take this further and try
