Whilst the jump from undergraduate studies to postgraduate studies can be seen as a challenge to navigate, I can confidently say that it is not as daunting as it may appear. There is a vast amount of content we are being taught and there are greater expectations to independently study outside of our lectures and seminars, however the workload is reasonable and manageable to keep up with. The way I have personally managed this change is by ensuring I stay organized and give myself enough time to complete assignments and not leave my readings and tasks to be done at the last minute. As I am learning content for four modules, I found it necessary to avoid overwhelming myself and finding time to wind down and have fun outside of studies. Ensuring there is a healthy balance between my studies and leisure time has made my experience smooth sailing so far. Luckily the university also has facilities and support teams that you can contact in regards to your health and wellbeing, that will help you if you are struggling with anything.<\/p>\n

Studying at The University of Manchester comes with its benefits, as the city has a lot to offer in terms of entertainment and leisure activities. Whether it be shopping in the Arndale Centre, exploring museums, going to the theatre or enjoying go karting with friends, you will find that there\u2019s always a variety of options to choose from to have fun. The city is culturally diverse with people of many different ethnic backgrounds residing here and there are endless options of vibrant restaurants to eat at, which offer a variety of different cuisines that accommodate to different dietary requirements.<\/p>\n

I am currently studying MSc Digital Marketing<\/a> at the Alliance Manchester Business School. My Master\u2019s programme has been an extremely knowledgeable, exciting and insightful experience so far as the content we are being taught is highly engaging and relevant to my degree programme. We have delved deeply into the topics related to marketing strategies and competitive advantages, in order to be equipped with the core knowledge necessary to understand Digital Marketing in its entirety. I have gained a greater insight in Digital Marketing areas, such as Search Engine Optimization, Social Media channels, Google Analytics and the increasing use of Artificial Intelligence in businesses today. Alongside the lectures and seminars, we are provided with core textbooks and reading lists to further expand on our knowledge, which also prove to be very useful when completing the assignments. Within my first semester I have been effectively guided and pushed to improve upon my analytical, evaluative and critical thinking skills, which I achieved though the interactive and engaging seminars and assignments my lecturers have provided. Our group assignments and presentations have enabled me to strengthen my communication abilities and it has overall helped me to build transferable employability skills.<\/p>\n

From my experience so far, it is evident that The University of Manchester is more than just an academic institution. It is an amazing University that provides knowledge and learning but it is also a place to make lifelong friends, a place where you will go through wonderful character development and an institution that welcomes you wholeheartedly into their community. All these factors have made my journey of being a Postgraduate student enjoyable so far and I am eagerly looking forward to seeing what my next semester has in store for me.<\/p>\n
