The university considers this and provides a wide range of support services to help students succeed both inside and outside the classroom. No matter where students are in their university life \u2013 whether they’re dealing with academic deadlines, maintaining their wellbeing, adjusting to life in Manchester, or pursuing their future careers \u2013 the university makes sure that help is always available.<\/p>\n

Central student support hubs<\/strong>
The Student Support Hubs are at the centre of student support and are easily accessible to all students on campus. These hubs become a location for many common questions, including those about course material, exam requirements, emergency support, welfare enquiries, and many more. When needed, the friendly staff can connect students with specialised services and point them in the right direction.<\/p>\n

Academic and school-level support<\/strong>
Academic advisors who provide tailored support throughout the degree are offered to all students by the school. They assist students in understanding assessment materials, planning for modules, and setting up academic goals. Each school’s local support centres make sure that students receive precise, tailored instruction in their subject.<\/p>\n

Mental Health and Wellbeing Services<\/strong>
The university prioritises mental health, considering that life as a student can be difficult sometimes. In view of this, the university provides access to stress reduction resources, private one-on-one counselling sessions, and wellness seminars. In addition to peer support groups and mental health advisors, students can also get immediate support through online resources and 24-hour helplines.<\/p>\n

Practical and Financial Advice<\/strong>
Specialised support is available for funding, scholarships, living cost planning, and budgeting, as money management can also be a source of stress for students. Students struggling with financial difficulties can also benefit from the Essentials Pantry program organised by university, which provides basic groceries and personal hygiene products. This service makes sure that no student has to worry about basic needs, during difficult times. Additionally, practical support is available for international students regarding visas and immigration responsibilities, along with the help for things like student cards, exams, registrations, and graduation arrangements.<\/p>\n

Disability and Accessibility Support<\/strong>
Specialised support is provided to students with disabilities or in need of special learning through the Disability Advisory and Support Service (DASS). This is based on individual support plans, making adjustments to tests and classes, and with the use of assistive technologies. With this, the university makes` sure that every student has an equal experience and the resources they require for success.<\/p>\n

Career development and future planning<\/strong>
The university\u2019s Careers Service provides workshops, industry contacts and mentoring to support students in planning internships, part-time jobs, graduate and full-time positions. This support enables students to move into their professional careers with confidence. This support continues even after graduation.<\/p>\n

And last, the University of Manchester has a broad range of inclusive support services available for students, including career planning, financial support, mental and physical health support, academic support, and disability services. By combining professional services, peer mentoring and individualised support, the university ensures that students feel supported during their time on campus and are well-prepared for life beyond campus.<\/p>\n
