Sustainability: Values

Sustainability values should be at the heart of our design and planning, and can be a critical part of ongoing review of teaching, learning and assessment practice. We recommend that at each stage of a design or review activity you consider which values you are trying to embed into the activity/unit programme. Some examples include:

• Develop staff and student environmental literacy
• Increase awareness of UN SDGs
• Imagine more sustainable futures
• Promote environmental sustainability
• Address local challenges
• Community engagement
• Respect for nature
• Reduce carbon emissions
