Over 300 distinct genetic causes of immune disorders have now been identified and the list continues to grow rapidly.<\/p>\n<p>Many patients present in childhood and are first seen after admission to children\u2019s hospitals, sometimes to intensive care. Other patients are identified because their brothers, sisters or other close family members have a disease.<\/p>\n<p>Paediatric immunology at Manchester provides not only cutting-edge care for these children with use of biologics, stem cell transplantation and recently the potential for gene therapy, but also the power of modern genomic and cellular diagnostic techniques allowing rapid and precise diagnosis and discovery of novel pathways and genes.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_button admin_label=&#8221;Button: Life course immunology case study&#8221;
