Professor Daniel Davis<\/a> gave a talk at the recent launch of The Lydia Becker Institute of Immunology and Inflammation<\/a> held at the Science and Industry Museum<\/a> in Manchester.<\/p>\n

Professor Davis\u2019 presentation of The Beautiful Cure was an enlightening tour through the personalities and discoveries that have transformed immunological research from its humble beginnings to its growing importance in modern clinical medicine.\u00a0 Among the discoveries discussed was that of anti-TNFalpha therapy for rheumatoid arthritis by Professor Sir Marc Feldmann<\/a>, who was one of the honoured guests in the audience.<\/p>\n

The inaugural Inflammatory Remarks seminar was an impressive introduction to how the complexity of the Immune system can be harnessed for the greater good.<\/p>\n

The Inflammatory Remarks series will continue with future speakers who push the boundaries of inflammation research.<\/p>\n
