Postgraduate research

ManCAD is committed to developing the next generation of hearing health researchers.

We have a strong network of international and UK postgraduate research students with a wide range of experience and skills. This diverse group plays a key role in the cutting-edge research currently being undertaken within the group.

PhD opportunities in our group

See the group members list to identify potential supervisors. Please contact the individual staff member if you have any questions or check out their research profile and look for Opportunities.

All available ManCAD projects are also listed in the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health project finder.

See PhD/MPhil Communication Disorders for details on how to apply, fees and the graduate training programme.

Funding

We have experience in securing funding from numerous sources and encourage any individuals interested in pursuing PhD studies to contact us. We welcome enquiries from clinicians and non-clinicians in order to discuss what type of project and supervisory team might be most appropriate.

Studentships and funding may be available from UK research councils (e.g. MRC, ESRC, BBSRC), the National Institute for Health Research, charitable trusts and organisations.

Taster placements

The NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) provides opportunities for placements which allow clinicians with limited research experience to join us and work on a collaborative project for one day a week for three to six months.

Watch a video on BRC opportunities and what attracted some of our current Research Audiologists to join ManCAD.
