We develop novel physiological and imaging techniques to study seizures and response to antiseizure medications.\u00a0We investigate the natural history of specific epilepsy disorders, as well as the safety of antiepileptic drugs to ensure treatments are optimised.<\/p>\n<p>We aim to answer questions such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What are the genetic factors underlying epilepsy?<\/li>\n<li>What changes to brain function result in generation of epileptic seizures?<\/li>\n<li>What mechanisms lead to resistance to antiseizure medications?<\/li>\n<li>What are the long-term impacts of exposure to antiseizure medications\u00a0<em>in utero<\/em>?<\/li>\n<li>How do hormonal changes influence epilepsy across the lifespan?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=&#8221;Developing therapeutic solutions&#8221;
