About

The Management of Projects Research Group has a legacy since the late 1960s of delivering high-quality research and education. By ‘Management of Projects’, we take a more strategic view to managing projects than the tactical, tools-based approach often associated with project management.

Today, projects are fundamental to everything we do and they permeate every sector including public, private and not-for-profit. Nearly a quarter of the world’s GDP is generated by capital projects, covering transportation networks, information and communication technologies (ICTs), energy provision and urban development.

Projects are also increasingly used to drive change in organisations. Delivering projects well and creating value from the management of projects are therefore critical concerns.
