Total patient suicides:<\/strong> Numbers decreased from 1821 in 2012 to 1589 in 2014, but rose again in 2018 to 1803 with lower numbers since.<\/p>\n

Male patient suicides:<\/strong> Numbers decreased from 1234 in 2012 to 1016 in 2014, then increased, reaching 1103 in 2022.<\/p>\n

Female patient suicides:<\/strong> Numbers remained relatively stable ranging 546 and 582 between 2012 and 2017, then increased, reaching 619 in 2022.<\/p>\n

Northern Ireland:<\/strong> The number of suicides was lowest at 43 in 2015 but increased to 83 in 2019 and ending at 74 in 2022.<\/p>\n

Scotland:<\/strong> patient suicide numbers decreased from 264 in 2012 to 209 in 2019, then slightly increased to 221 in 2022.<\/p>\n

Wales:<\/strong> Numbers fluctuated, peaking at 101 in 2013 and dropping to 63 in 2014, ending at 83 in 2022.<\/p>\n
