Activities<\/h1>\n

The PRIOR consortium has been awarded a Consortium Development Grant (CDG) by the UK Prevention Research Partnership (UKPRP). The CDG was a nine-month award that enabled the final assembly of researchers and stakeholders to develop and enhance the full proposal for PRIOR, submitted in December 2020.<\/p>\n

During the CDG period, the PRIOR consortium conducted the following activities, with the major output being a fully written proposal for consideration of the wider five-year research grant funding.<\/p>\n

Engagement of users and other stakeholders<\/h2>\n

This is\u00a0to facilitate knowledge exchange of stakeholders.<\/p>\n

The CDG has allowed us to enhance the structure of our consortium by engaging with a range of disciplines to ensure that we are able to deliver.<\/p>\n

This has included integrating multidisciplinary expertise across our key themes, and ensuring that we have a delivery partner and local authority partner within each site to guarantee effective delivery of co-produced interventions that can influence system-level change.<\/p>\n

We have re-structured the consortium, programme design and logic model to reflect the reviewers’ comments and improve our pathway to impact.<\/p>\n

Photo-elicitation study and workshop\u00a0<\/h2>\n

Through the CDG, we have further engaged local community members, building on our existing links to the three sites and demonstrating our experience of working with communities. Activities with residents in Doncaster, Manchester and West Cheshire used photography to capture local priorities in health, digital and financial life.\u00a0<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n

Local Facebook groups were set up to encourage local engagement. Group members were invited to post photographs and comments on the three themes of health, digital and financial life. Photos were posted generating long threads of comments. The results are currently being written up into publications and a report for dissemination.<\/p>\n

Health, digital and financial literacy cross-sectional survey\u00a0<\/h2>\n

As part of the CDG, we investigated the levels of health, digital and financial literacy in our target areas through a postal survey, and across the UK through a survey delivered by the health and wellbeing app of our project partner BetterPoints.<\/p>\n

The results of the questionnaire have been used to inform methodology and provide justification for the full proposal. The results are currently being written up into publications and a report for dissemination.<\/p>\n

Full consortium meetings<\/h2>\n

Meetings\u00a0with all programme partners involved plenary discussions, as well as workshop sessions for individual work packages, during which members discussed their specific aims, objectives, methods, deliverables and milestones.<\/p>\n

Agenda setting and research priorities were informed by the PRIOR user engagement work.<\/p>\n
