{"id":3175,"date":"2024-03-22T10:20:05","date_gmt":"2024-03-22T10:20:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.manchester.ac.uk\/salc-making-a-difference\/?p=3175"},"modified":"2024-04-03T11:37:24","modified_gmt":"2024-04-03T10:37:24","slug":"addressing-the-awarding-gap-a-workshop-with-dr-paul-campbell","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.manchester.ac.uk\/salc-making-a-difference\/2024\/03\/22\/addressing-the-awarding-gap-a-workshop-with-dr-paul-campbell\/","title":{"rendered":"Addressing the Awarding Gap \u2013 A Workshop with Dr Paul Campbell"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Wednesday 3 April we welcome Dr Paul Campbell (inaugural Director of University of Leicester Institute for Inclusivity in Higher Education) to deliver a two-hour workshop on the topic of addressing the awarding gap in higher education.<\/p>\n<p>This workshop will take place from 1pm-3pm on <a href=\"https:\/\/zoom.us\/j\/91670836416\">Zoom<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>At the event, Dr Campbell will share a toolkit of templates, and lead group discussions on strategies for their implementation.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The underlying ethos of Paul&#8217;s toolkit is to answer the question: \u201cHow can we address the award gap, without making major changes to our modules?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>HIs research focuses on finding ways to address the award gap that exists across HE, by developing tools for educators which can be evaluated for success and impact. His toolkits have been piloted on more than sixty modules across universities, with positive results as shown in his most recent report, <i><a href=\"http:\/\/a.23579565\">An Evaluation of the Racially Inclusive Practice in Assessment\u00a0Intervention on Students\u2019 and Staffs\u2019 Experiences of Assessment in HE<\/a>.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Dr Campbell researches and teaches on race and inclusion at the University of Leicester.
