Peer Mentoring as a programme is designed to help you transition into University life and offers you specific help and guidance.<\/p>\n
You will be given a Mentor who will meet with you regularly, providing advice particular to you and giving you an insight into the course from a higher year student\u2019s perspective.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Your Mentors will be trained in providing support. They can arrange revision sessions, workshops with external speakers and can direct you to services within the University of Manchester so you can always find the help you need.<\/p>\n
Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n Peer Mentoring isn\u2019t just beneficial for the Mentee it provides an\u00a0opportunity to improve many key skills, e.g confidence and communication, by sharing your experiences. Find out what Peer Mentors felt the benefits were to them by visiting the\u00a0\u00a0Peer Support web page on My Manchester.<\/a><\/p>\n The opportunity\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n We are looking for\u00a0Peer Mentors for our new academic year Septemeber 2019 for the following subjects areas:-<\/p>\n It is a great chance to contribute to your department and work with your course mates to improve it. There are a number of things you could do within your role including:<\/p>\n You will be well supported throughout the year by Coordinators and the Peer Support team and will be invited to a Celebration Evening at the end of the academic year to thank you for all your hard work.<\/p>\n Being a Peer Mentor also counts towards the Stellify Award as one of your \u2018Step up and Lead\u2019 roles.
