Find outputs and resources we have developed as part of the Blueprint project. We will add more here as they are published.

Our model

Our research led us to create a co-produced, evidence-based model of what service design for CYP experiencing common mental health problems should look like.

Read our main study findings paper which outlines how our model was developed via a mixed-methods study that encompassed an evidence synthesis, primary research and a model building phase.

You can also visit the ‘Our model’ page to learn about why this model is important for commissioners and service providers, and some of the model’s characteristics.

Watch our co-produced animation which outlines the Blueprint model of service design for children and young people’s mental health services.

Qualitative case study findings

The Blueprint team have published the key findings from the qualitative case study phase of the project.

This paper explores the perceptions of the key components of effective, acceptable and accessible services for children and young people experiencing common mental health problems. Perspectives are drawn from interviews with young people accessing services, parents and practitioners.

A Blueprint for involvement

The Blueprint writing collective, which incorporates the co-researchers, core members of the research team and representatives from McPin, have recently published a paper which captures the co-researcher involvement journey on the Blueprint project.

The writing team worked together to reflect on the successes and challenges of this approach to research and the challenges of carrying out this work during a global pandemic. We have summarised what we have learnt about how best to enable and support co-researcher involvement to provide guidance to other researchers.

Blueprint project lay summary

The Blueprint study officially ended on 30 April 2022 and the final report for the funder (National Institute for Health and Care Research) is currently under review.

When it is published we will share it here. In the meantime, you can download a one-page summary of the Blueprint project (PDF).
