On 17 May, a workshop on “Big Disinfo” took place at the University of Manchester. Reflecting on Joseph Bernstein’s 2021 article in Harper’s magazine, the workshop participants applied their own research perspectives and findings to current debates about “Big Disinfo.” The workshop brought together invited experts and researchers from two current AHRC-funded research projects based at Manchester: Everything is Connected and the (Mis)Translating Deceit project. The workshop was organised and funded by the Democracy & Trust cluster of the Centre for Digital Trust and Society, part of the Digital Futures research platform at the University of Manchester.

After the event, the workshop participants were asked to provide short summaries of their presentations and/or share their post-workshop observations, which are available here.
