Silicosis dashboard

This dashboard displays cases of silicosis reported to the Surveillance of Work-related and Occupational Respiratory Disease (SWORD) scheme from 1996 onwards. SWORD is funded by the Health and Safety Executive.

The dashboard contains data on all cases of silicosis reported to the scheme from 1996, including both natural and engineered stone (ES) silicosis.

Data are updated weekly, cleaned data are confirmed three monthly.

SWORD is a voluntary reporting scheme for respiratory clinicians in the UK seeing patients with occupational lung disease. Clinicians accessing this database are encouraged to report to SWORD.
