Your Academic Advisor is an academic from your subject area who has been assigned to support you this year. You should have already met with them to discuss any concerns or goals that you have for this year. If you haven’t spoken to them already, we really recommend that you do so. They’ll be really pleased to hear from you and to have a chat with you about how things are going.

As some of you have been in contact with us recently asking about this, please find a step-by-step guide to finding your Academic Advisor’s details below.

Step 1

Head to My Manchester and login using your University username and password. Locate the Student System hyperlink from the drop down menu on the left (circled in red below) and select it.

Step 2

You will then be presented with the screen below. Follow the link through to the Student Centre.

Step 3

You will now see your personal Student Centre, which provides an overview of all your University information. In the bottom right corner, under Advisor, you will find your individual Program Advisor, who is your Academic Advisor. Select Details to find out their contact information. Although this section is blank in the image below, your screen should show the name of your Advisor.

Step 4

You will now be presented with the My Advisors screen, which will provide the name of your degree programme and advisor. Selecting the hyperlink on your Advisors Name will provide you with their email address, from there you will be able to contact them directly. Although this section is blank in the image below, your screen should show the name of your Advisor.
