Year 2 – Report 2021

Into the future

Over the next 12 months we will be analysing in depth the qualitative interviews that have been carried out. In addition to providing rich descriptive data about deaf young people’s lives and insights into the risk and protective factors we are starting to identify, they are also a unique record of deaf young people’s lives during the pandemic.

We will be completing the analysis of the second wave of data collection (so far 63 deaf young people in our cohort have repeated the survey and assessments and this remains open to the end of December 2021). From January the third Wave of data collection begins.

We offer our sincere thanks to every young person who has taken part in the study and every parent, family member, friend or professional who has encouraged deaf young people to do so.
