Year 2 – Report 2021

Minority sexuality

It is a feature of the READY cohort that 47 participants self-identify with what can be termed a minority sexuality (i.e. LGBTQ+ and encompassing a wide range of preferred descriptors).

Our analyses have shown that those deaf young people who describe themselves in different ways as ‘non-heterosexual’ have poorer health, lower subjective well-being and lower self-determination.
