Is master’s study for me?

A master’s degree is the next level of study up from an undergraduate (bachelor’s) degree. People do a master’s degree for many different reasons, and in many different ways. You may want to change direction – perhaps to something more vocational. You may want to progress to PhD / doctoral study, and know you need a master’s to do this. You may want to make yourself stand out in your chosen career. Or you may simply love your subject, and want to keep studying it for another year.

Any of these reasons are fine – and all are common! Whether you have considered studying a master’s in detail, or don’t know anything about it and want to learn more, Discover Postgrad has been designed to help you decide what’s best for you. Have a look at the various activities posted on our programme page, and sign up for any that interest you. It is taking place during Semester One and places are limited – so make sure you sign up soon!

Whatever activities you decide to take part in, rest assured that there are no ‘silly questions’. Please come along to meet current master’s students, academic staff, careers advisers and more – all are ready to answer all your questions about master’s study.

We look forward to meeting you!
