Join us from 12.30 – 2.00 on Wednesday 18th May for the next SEEDs of Change seminar

The SEEDs of Change seminar series aims to provide a space for academics across SEED to discuss the broad topic of research impact.

To date we have run sessions looking at how staff have attempted to contribute to topics such as the pandemic and shared thinking about what a strong impact case might look like. The next session intends to continue along this trajectory and reflect specifically upon how people might go about evaluating and reporting their impact.

How do you know you’re making a difference? Evaluating and Reporting Research Impact

Part 1: Chronicling SEED impact (12.30-1.15)

Carly will kick off with a brief reflection on her experiences of supporting SEED staff to chronicle their research impact over the last few years. Two academics from across SEED will then be joining us to share their experiences of conducting impactful work. More details will follow, but we will hear about the specific strategies that have been adopted to ensure the research has an impact upon the desired stakeholders. Further, the two speakers will also describe how they have evidenced/are working to evidence the impact of their work.  

Part 2: Research impact and staff profiles: Pure and ResearchFish (1.15-1.30)

Lauren Tempelman will provide a brief overview of Pure and ResearchFish. Lauren will give an overview of how staff can make use of Pure to publicise their impact activities. Further, a brief overview of ResearchFish will be provided.

Part 3: Research impact Q and A sessions (1.30-2.00)

Throughout the session, individuals will be invited to ask questions to the speakers after their presentations. If people have more specific questions, the final half an hour of the session will be left available for people to ask questions about their specific work.
