We are delighted to announce that MACC Researcher Dr Andrew Bentley has been promoted from Reader to Honorary Professor! This is in recognition of Andrew’s outstanding contribution to critical care research and specifically to his research and expertise in leading the management of, and weaning from, severe respiratory failure in the critically ill. Andrew will continue his clinical roles as a senior consultant in both respiratory and critical care medicine, along with his research portfolio.

Andrew is excited to continue to work with MAHSC in his various roles, loading local, regional and national studies.

In April 2020, Manchester Academic Health Science Centre (MAHSC), part of Health Innovation Manchester, was officially designated by National Institute for Health Research (NIHR)NHS England and NHS Improvement up to 2025. It is one of only eight academic health science centres in England – and the only one in the North West – designated to research new treatments, improve health education and transform patient care.
