Designated Resident Doctor

In March-May each year, our medical students will undertake four-week Student Assistantship placements designed to boost their confidence and readiness for foundation roles. They’ll be embedded in hospital teams, shadowing and assisting Designated Resident Doctors (usually Foundation Doctors) under the supervision of a named Clinical Placement Supervisor.

To prepare you for this role, you need to attend a one-hour PRiME Core preparation session delivered by the Year 5 academic team. This will outline the requirements, how to give constructive feedback, tips for being a supportive near peer mentor and where to find help if needed. You’ll receive a certificate for your portfolio.

Please book via the PRiME Core page for the workshop.
