On Wednesday 3 April we welcome Dr Paul Campbell (inaugural Director of University of Leicester Institute for Inclusivity in Higher Education) to deliver a two-hour workshop on the topic of addressing the awarding gap in higher education.

This workshop will take place from 1pm-3pm on Zoom.

At the event, Dr Campbell will share a toolkit of templates, and lead group discussions on strategies for their implementation.

The underlying ethos of Paul’s toolkit is to answer the question: “How can we address the award gap, without making major changes to our modules?”

HIs research focuses on finding ways to address the award gap that exists across HE, by developing tools for educators which can be evaluated for success and impact. His toolkits have been piloted on more than sixty modules across universities, with positive results as shown in his most recent report, An Evaluation of the Racially Inclusive Practice in Assessment Intervention on Students’ and Staffs’ Experiences of Assessment in HE.

Dr Campbell researches and teaches on race and inclusion at the University of Leicester. He is also part of the Teaching and Learning Collective, a collection of scholars from HEIs – including LSE, Cambridge, Reading, Warwick universities and KCL – who aim to provide measurable and impactful interventions to promote inclusion and equality in Higher Education.
