Syrian Stories is a textile art project involving a group of Syrian women from refugee backgrounds in Burnley.

It is supported by a Cultural Engagement Award as part of SALC’s Social Responsibility programme. Dr Alison Jeffers in Drama teamed up with textile artist Ibukun Baldwin to run a series of textile workshops. The project has been fully supported by Community Arts by ZK in Brierfield, Burnley. The workshops are part of Dr Jeffers’ research into craft and making for a book Crafting Change: Workshops, Performance and Activism to be published in 2027.
