A reminder that this week CIDRAL welcomes Colin Grant in partnership with the Centre for New Writing and Creative Manchester. He will be speaking to Ellah Wakatama Allfrey about his new book about the Windrush generation, Homecoming, at the International Anthony Burgess Centre, 6-8pm, on Thursday 14 November.

Next week, on Wednesday 20 November, we shall be co-hosting David Wilkinson’s Raymond Williams Society Annual Lecture, also at the Burgess Centre, from 5pm: ‘”The Dropouts are anticipating future economic policy”: Work, Class and Countercultural Legacies’. David has written extensively about music and subcultures, and is the author of Post-Punk, Politics and Pleasure in Britain. He will be giving a follow-up Key Ideas seminar, 2-4pm the following day. At the moment we are still awaiting confirmation of a venue for the seminar. Full details of the lecture and seminar are given below.
