GP and community-based educators
There are several workshops available to staff who work in the community, including GPs, the GP practice team and allied community healthcare professionals who are involved in teaching the Manchester MB ChB students.
If you are interested in teaching in the community, more information is available on the MB ChB Community Team website, where you can also book your place for PRiME Network GP Team.
If you have already been in touch with the MB ChB Community Team and are going to be taking the role of a new Clinical Placement Supervisor (CPS) please sign up to the PRiME Core New Clinical Placement Supervisor Course (first box, above), and also the PRiME Advanced Clinical Reasoning workshop within 6 months of starting as a CPS.
GPs are also welcome to be Academic Advisors for Year 3-5 students, and GPs who supervise or intend to supervise our students soon are also welcome to be CCA examiners (you are paid directly for both of these roles).
If you are interested in these roles please sign up to the relevant PRiME Core workshop for New Academic Advisors /New CCA Examiners and you can get the details of whom to contact at your chosen hospital base at the workshop.
There are also paid roles for GPs as Clinical Lecturers, Clinical Debrief Tutors and Themed Case Discussion facilitators – these roles are usually advertised on the University of Manchester jobs webpage, so it is worth looking there and contacting MB ChB Community Team if you are interested.
