Theme 6: Knowledge synthesis

Theme 6 of the PROTECT study is about bringing together all the knowledge and evidence created by the other research themes and making it count, translating it into practical policy advice and tools for government, industry and individuals to reduce transmission of the COVID-19 virus and help get society back closer to normal.

In practice, this means engaging directly with government, industry and other stakeholders to disseminate research findings and advice, producing accessible and usable communications outputs such as evidence briefings, guidance documents and risk assessment tools, and making research publications and reusable datasets findable and accessible to other researchers – include the other National Core Studies – to maximise impact.
