Our mission is to improve the lives of people living with long-term health conditions
In the future, data from smartphones and wearable devices could help answer many of the questions patients have. This data could be easily contributed by patients and the public.
Turning that data into world leading health research, and helping other researchers to do the same, will allow us to transform health outcomes for everyone. Health Research from Home is bringing the community together to share know-how, skills and experience to make this happen at scale.

Research projects
We are running two cutting edge research projects that will pioneer the successful linkage of smartphone and wearable data to existing research databanks.
Learn more about our projects:
PAPrKA
Physical Activity Patterns after Knee Arthroplasty (PAPrKA): A Retrospective Cohort Study.
Long-term COVID outcomes
Exploring the long-term consequences of COVID.
Resources for researchers
All members of the Health Research from Home partnership have conducted or contributed to successful smartphone and wearable research studies.
On our resources pages you can find useful information, curated by our partnership, to inform your own studies.
Events
The Health Research from Home Partnership offers a unique calendar of events that won’t be found anywhere else.
At our events we’ll share how we and our partners have created successful health research studies using smartphones and wearables. We’ll also talk about contentious and difficult issues that arise when conducing health studies using smartphones and wearables, and how to overcome those issues.
About us
The Health Research from Home Partnership is an interdisciplinary group who have all conducted, or contributed to, successful population research using smartphones and wearables.
Led by The University of Manchester, we bring together leading academics, industry partners and public contributors to advance this notoriously difficult field of research. We do this by sharing the lessons we have learnt.
Patient and public involvement and engagement
Learn about how Health Research from Home puts patient and public involvement and engagement (PPIE) at the heart of everything we do.
