Exciting Post-examination Ideas based on what type of person you are

First of all, we would like to congratulate you on completing your examinations, The University of Manchester offer-holders! No matter what A-Levels, IB, or related examinations you have taken, you should be proud of your hard work. We are excited for you to move towards the next stage of your career. Now, It is time to celebrate your achievements and take a well-deserved summer break. Why not make some unforgettable experiences before the next chapter of your academic journey? That being said, here’s a few ideas to inspire your summer itinerary:

If you think you are an adventurer:

Why not explore a new city and explore new cultures and cuisines with your friends? Just imagine having an iced drink on the beach in Spain with no examination worries in your mind. Isn’t that exciting? If you are not a beach person, there are also other options such as solo backpacking adventures and cultural immersion programs that you can choose to create lifetime memories. If you want to stay local, why not explore a new favourite coffee shop or a bar to mark your favourites in town?

If you think you are kind and giving person:

If you are a passionate individual who would like to give back to your community, you could also do some volunteering in your area. There are also lots of programs available to you and those organisations would benefit from your time and support.

If you would like to learn more about yourself:

Do you have a desire to explore more about yourself? This summer may be the best time to pursue your interests and hobbies! Whether you are a master baker or simply a newbie at knitting, using the time you have to develop those skills and dedicate time to your passions can be rejuvenating and fulfilling.

If you are a workaholic:

If you are simply a person who would like to stay occupied and productive, why not gain some valuable working experience or take up a part-time job? Not only you can develop new skill sets, but you will also gain valuable work experiences that could enhance your resume and future career prospects

If you are a dedicated learner:

Still in the learning mode? Then learning something new can surely challenge you. Whether it is learning Spanish on Duolingo (make sure you don’t lose your streaks!) or hardcore learning coding, learning new things can (hopefully) give you the academic validation you are searching for.

If you are a University of Manchester offer-holder:

You can explore your future home, Manchester, at your leisure in the summer. Visit its museums and start exploring your local favourite eat-out spots can make your transition to the university smoother. There is simply so much you can explore in this vibrant city!

If you do not want to do anything above:

Then this is for you: simply take some time to relax and recharge with friends and family. Enjoy the calm and stress-free time after a busy exam period. Indulge yourself in nature and treat yourself because you simply deserve it.

The possibilities of this summer are limitless! Whether you are travelling the world in eighty days or binging a Netflix series at home, make the most of this precious time before the next chapter of your journey.
