Before joining the MA in Digital Technologies, Communication and Education at the University of Manchester, I had spent several years leading youth education and peacebuilding initiatives across the MENA region. My academic background was in dentistry, but my passion was always in creating inclusive, innovative learning opportunities for underserved communities.

I chose the DTCE program because I wanted to explore how digital tools could drive social change in education. The program gave me not only strong theoretical foundations but also practical research skills that directly informed my work, but what stood out most during my time in Manchester was the supporting learning environment, rich discussions with my international colleagues and the chance to engage in real world research projects.

My dissertation on the role of AI as a teaching assistant for environmental education was selected as runner-up for the department’s dissertation award, and I had the opportunity to present it at major academic conferences.

My time at Manchester was also recognized through two key awards: the Stellify Award for leadership and social responsibility, and the Making a Difference Highly Commended Award for social impact through entrepreneurship.

Since graduating, I’ve scaled up my work as the CEO of Educuality, an organization focused on gamified peace and environmental education, and have taken on consultancy roles with the World Bank, British Council, and other global institutions. The DTCE course gave me the tools and confidence to expand both the scale and strategy of my work.

To future applicants: This program is more than academic, it’s a launchpad for creating change. If you’re passionate about bridging education, technology, and social impact, DTCE will give you the support, flexibility, and global network to do it.
Approach the course with curiosity and purpose, and take full advantage of the opportunities available, from research and academia to student-led initiatives.

Your time at Manchester can open doors you haven’t even imagined yet.
