My post-Masters plans
I’m thrilled to discuss my goals for the future and how studying at one of the best business schools in the UK has put me in a unique position to achieve them.
The University of Manchester’s MSc Marketing programme has been a life-changing opportunity that has sharpened my skills, and fuelled my enthusiasm for marketing.
I now possess the knowledge and abilities necessary to differentiate myself in such a competitive field. It’s not just the academic information, it’s also the chances I’ve had to utilise what I’ve learned into action through working on assignments based off real-world companies. I’ve had a taste of real life through these experiences, and they’ve also helped me realise my interests and decide which path I want to take after finishing my master’s degree.
Let’s move on to the fun part: my future vision. I have two main goals after completing my Master’s degree.
As I approach the midpoint of my Master’s career, I have two goals in mind. First, I want to work as an in-house marketer for a luxury clothing or beauty company. This is more than a job for me, it’s a way to pursue my interests in luxury products and marketing. I’ve always been intrigued by the creative process of promoting high-end products, admiring the creativity and uniqueness required to draw in the audience. I aim to move to London or potentially stay in Manchester to pursue this goal.
After years of gaining expertise and connections within the industry, the next stage in my career, I see myself taking a brave step towards entrepreneurship. I aim to open my own marketing agency, that specialises in a couple of marketing fields and will serve an international clientele. My vision for the agency is to build a bridge between different languages and cultures, where creativity and opulence speak louder than words.
When it comes to accomplishing these goals, it is easier said than done. But how will I reach my goals? The answer lies in the knowledge and skills I gained, and will gain while pursuing my Masters degree.
Creativity and Innovation: I’ve been motivated to think creatively in order to develop marketing strategies for assignments for various of different businesses in different fields. This will allow me to adapt easily to any field and company.
Business Understanding: The degree has provided me with a strong foundation of how businesses operate and the creative process behind creating a product. This equipped me to navigate the challenges of creating a new product, market and competition analysis.
Cultural Sensitivity: The degree taught me why and how to understand and respect various cultures, which is essential for working with international clients and brands.
My post-master’s journey is an exciting one that is full of possibilities, and my degree from the University of Manchester has inspired me to strive for excellence in the marketing industry. I’m excited to see where this journey leads me.
