Interviews… Sabika Hassan

I’ve now cleared Ethical Review at University of Manchester- a very thorough process, and rightly so… With this process completed I can begin data collection in earnest. I’ve had the good fortune to speak with a number of marvellous makers over the past few weeks. One in particular I’d like to draw attention to is Sabika Hassan.

Sabika completed her BA from Manchester School of Art, Manchester Metropolitan University. She first came to my attention through an interview with Dave Sedgwick published in Creative Review in 2015 (read the full interview here: https://www.creativereview.co.uk/design-and-faith-how-does-being-young-female-and-a-muslim-impact-life-and-work/). Her beautiful work warranted two spots in the finalist show that year –  Sabika had been that productive – and was subsequently exhibited at Manchester Central Library. She continues to work in the North-West as a freelance designer and is open to discussing future projects. More of Sabika’s work can be viewed on the website, Behance, where you can also contact her: https://www.behance.net/sabikahassd669
