Daisy’s experience of BA Social Sciences at Manchester
Hear from Daisy on what she loves about studying BA Social Sciences at Manchester.
Hi! I’m Daisy, I do BA Social Sciences in Sociology and Criminology.
What is BA Social Sciences?
It’s a joint honours degree at The University of Manchester. You pick two subjects from sociology, criminology, philosophy, politics, social anthropology and data analytics. You then split your 120 credits between the two. I personally have opted to do more criminology units than sociology, but provided that I make a mental plan, I can balance my time between the two.
What’s your favourite part of studying BA Social Sciences at Manchester?
I definitely like the flexibility of really being able to choose what modules I want to do. When I looked at the course unit selection, some really jumped out to me, but others not so much. So I like the fact that I can choose what I want to do rather than be told.
What’s your favourite memory from your time at Manchester?
Definitely going to society events and making friends with people.
What are your plans after you graduate?
I’d like to go into investigatory work, possibly become a civilian investigator, with the police or something like that. I’ve always been interested in piecing together evidence.
