We are delighted to celebrate the recent success of Wellcome Trust Immunomatrix in Complex Disease PhD student Holly Sedgwick from the Menon lab.

Holly was awarded the Best Talk Award for her talk entitled ‘Investigating B Cell Dynamics and Interaction with the Extracellular Matrix in Chronic Lung Disease’ at the British Society for Immunology (BSI) London Immunology Group’s Signals and Senses meeting held on 11 September.

The event brought together researchers to explore fundamental communication pathways within the immune system, featuring a keynote presentation on non-coding regions of DNA – often referred to as the ‘dark genome’ – by Professor Yasmine Belkaid.

As she nears the completion of her doctoral studies, Holly presented her research to an audience of peers and experts from across the field. Her presentation earned top honours among the day’s speakers.
